You’re going to need to be able to change the text on the headlines, the body copy, and the call to action button.
Speaking of the buttons – you’re going to need to add links to those buttons. If the button says “learn more”, you need to send them to a page that you create.
Plugins
Next, you’re going to need to add some plugins. You’ll want plugins for security, for SEO, for spam prevention, for speeding up your site, a cookie policy plugin, and for minimizing the size of photographs. You also need to update those plugins regularly.
Editing Pages
You’re going to need to know how to do some basic editing of your pages. You’re not going to want every single section that the AI website designer picked for you, and you may need to add some sections as well. You may want a testimonial section, or a products or services section, or a section with photos and bios of your staff.
Adding Forms
At the very least you’re going to want a “Contact Us” form, like the one on this contact page. You may also want a booking form, a calendar form, and a newsletter signup form, among others. It’s not hard to embed them, but the AI website designer isn’t going to do it for you.
Fortunately, you can get most of this stuff done within a day or two once you learn how. And the beauty of the AI website builders is that they save you days or weeks of design headaches, as well as thousands of dollars on web designer fees.
Does this mean that AI website builders are perfect for everyone? No, they won’t cover all the bases, and you are stuck using the design templates they give you to choose from, and for more complex sites you’re going to likely need a web designer.
